It's lovely meeting people from all over the world and enthusing over the wonders of the Outer Hebrides. As a scientist with an interest in birdsong feel free to ask about the local nature - there's so much to see and hear.

Property information

A peaceful location, 12 minutes walk from the Lochboisdale ferry, with views over the loch to the hills. Evening meals available November to mid-March. An air purifier with HEPA filter operates in the dining room.

Neighbourhood information

12 minutes walk to nearest bar/restaurant 5 minute drive to the beautiful beaches on the west coast. Rock-pool exploring & otter watching in the sea-loch at the end of our road. Chance of visiting deer in the garden! The Kildonan museum (10 minute drive) has displays of local house interiors over the centuries and a great café. Local coffee roastery & café in Lochboisdale's fishing harbour Ancient temples and half-buried round houses can be explored amidst the island's rolling sand dunes. In the spring and summer the air is full of birdsong and the pastures a picture of colour from the rare flowers and orchids. Explore the beach where Bonnie Prince Charlie landed, and the location of the original Whisky Galore! NB: Our nearest airport is Benbecula, 40 minutes drive - Please note that although Booking dot com suggests Barra airport this is on a different island and you'll need to catch a ferry from there to here!
