Set in 5 acres of open land, the building is surrounded by beautiful Scottish scenery with extensive routes to enjoy. A variety of seabirds can be spotted around The Mey Hotel, wider local Area and nearby coves to explore along the coast. After seeing the local area, guests can relax in the bar. Other amenities for guests include a lounge with a flagstone fireplace, and you can also admire views of Dunnet Head, the Pentland Firth, and the Orkney Islands. Rooms are newly decorated, with an private bathroom, free toiletries, a flat-screen TV, and tea and coffee making facilities (if you require fresh milk then please bring this with you on arrival). Our hotel is a 200 yr old building. It is not a modern 5 star hotel in a city center. We have limited internet (you are on holiday). Sometimes the weather/climate makes it seem colder, the room are centrally heated and do not have individual controls but we do provide additional blankets and other items. The welcome will be warm and the food will be cooked fresh for you but we also have limited staff and have to know if advance of any requests. allergies , additional requirements. We are a husband and wife team of 2 and provide a personal warm and friendly service. But we are not a city center hotel with unlimited staff and need to work to set timings for breakfasts, dinners, check-ins and checks-outs etc. If any of this is an issue then we would politely ask you to book elsewhere.
Couples in particular like the location – they rated it 9.4 for a two-person trip.
