Quarry Rigg apartments are an exclusive development at the heart of picturesque Bowness on Windermere that combines a heart of the Lakes location with contemporary comfort and style. With fabulous views out over the rooftops to spellbinding Lake Windermere, Darcey's Apartment is the ideal location for a family getaway or break with friends exploring this magical part of the world, whatever the time of year. This stylish first-floor apartment has a light and airy open plan living and dining room with a feature electric coal effect fireplace and TV with DVD player. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and the décor throughout the apartment has a smart, bright and clean. The large open planned lounge has lovely views over the lake. Although there's no outdoor space, there are plenty of walks for your dog within minutes of the apartment and the ascent up Gummers How will reward you with exceptional panoramic vistas across Lake Windermere and the fells. There is "one" off road parking space behind the apartment. Walk out of the door of Darcey's Apartment and within minutes you're in the heart of the lively Bowness on Windermere and just 500 yards from Lake Windermere itself.
Windermere Train Station 1mile: Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 7 miles. The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Old Laundry theatre are 200metres away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is less than two miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away.
