A 5-minute walk from Bassenthwaite Lake, this Victorian country guest house has forest and fells views and offers chic bedrooms, free high speed WiFi throughout the property. All have tea/coffee making facilities, a hair dryer, digital clock radio with iPad/iPhone dock and a shoe cleaning kit. In the morning, enjoy an award-winning full Cumbrian breakfast or a vegetarian alternative, alongside plenty of cereals, fruit and yogurt. Packed lunches as well as flasks filled with tea/coffee, are available on request. Locally sourced produce is used wherever possible. Link House also has a sunny guest lounge overlooking the mountains that can be enjoyed by all guests. The property is approximately 8 miles from the popular tourist town of Keswick and 5 miles from the old market town of Cockermouth. There are also many beautiful walks and cycle paths around.

We have decorated Link House in a sympathetic way to the period whilst adding modern twists for your comfort. We have a guest lounge with a fridge for you to use along with a lovely garden with picnic benches so you can relax.

Neighborhood info

Link House is a late Victorian Country Guest House, situated close to Bassenthwaite Lake with stunning views of both forests and fells. Traditionally built, this country house enjoys stunning views of the forest and surrounding fells including the 3046 feet Skiddaw and Sale Fell. The sunny aspect gives a warm and comfortable atmosphere in which to relax and feel at home. We are situated a short distance from the A66 at the northern tip of Bassenthwaite Lake; approximately 8 miles from the popular tourist town of Keswick and 5 miles from the old market town of Cockermouth with the X5 bus stop outside the door. Link House is in the quieter part of the Lake District National Park, yet with access to many interesting places to visit such as the Whinlatter Visitor Centre and Dodd Wood where the Ospreys who nest nearby each year, can be viewed. It makes an ideal base for walkers, cyclists, sailors ( we are 500 metres to Bassenthwaite Sailing Club), wedding guests ( less than 2 miles from Armathwaite Hall), or anyone attending courses at Higham Hall. We are also within walking distance of Bassenthwaite Lake Station, The Pheasant Inn and The Lakes Distillery.
