Rest and relax in comfort next to the open fire or on the balcony with river views. Neighbourhood information

Staveley, situated in between the Lake District towns of Kendal and Windermere is quintessentially English, largely undisturbed where visitors can comfortably discover the varied shops, cafes and bars. Visit historic landmarks of the village, The Tower of Saint Margaret which is all that remains of a church built on the site in 1388, or for somewhere more modern visit Hawkshead Brewery to sample their homemade brews which supply many restaurants and bars in the Lake District. Those visitors who choose Staveley as a base will be well rewarded by the beauty and calm of the nearby Kentmere Valley and its classic walks leading off in all directions. Walk 'The Dalesway' leading through beautiful nature whilst keeping eyes peeled for the wonderful wildlife which resides there, starting only 5 minutes away from The Barn. Staveley is surely a perfect starting point from where to explore the length and breadth of the Lake District and Cumbria.
