Beautiful place with walks beside the lake and loads of wildlife. Peacocks walk around lording it over the numerous ducks. We have stayed often as we initially used it due to it being dog friendly but even after our dogs died we still go there...

Property info

Located in East Sussex, TN33 - and quickly accessible from London - the hotel sits around a 7-acre lake within 78 acres of private ancient woodlands, streams, and old pastures that climb up a chalky hill. We’re welcoming nature back and inviting you to come and share time and space with it. Whether as a hotel guest or local member. A mix of rooms, suites, cottages and a lake house are available. There are 58 in total, with more in-nature options on the way. A seasonally driven all-day restaurant is fed by its own regenerative growing plots, a traditional pub has both winter fires and summer BBQs, and the Parlour lounge and Green Room cocktail bar are adults-only spaces for drinks or emails. ‘Natural wellness’ is offered throughout. That starts on the lake with a freshwater swim, paddleboard or full-moon kayak, and continues with gym workouts, Craft Barn workshops, and Art Studio sessions. Padel courts will follow shortly. Everything is designed to be physically comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and naturally soothing. It’s not austere or earnest, showy or too serious. It’s simply somewhere that puts you at ease so you can get comfortable, let go, and go discover.
