We booked to stay at Summer Winds at very short notice, late in the afternoon, having been badly let down by a different guest house in the town. Our host, Sue, could not have been more friendly, helpful, attentive and considerate. She responded...

The hostess made me feel at home right away. She made very helpful recommendations regarding where to eat and what to see in the area. I was travelling by train, the property was close to the train station, centre of town and the sea.

A quiet guest house, with award winning small front garden. We are only 3 mins level walk from the seafront & town centre. You are also just a short walk from the stunning Exe estuary where you can watch thousands or migrating birds and if you're lucky see Sammy the Seal who will often make an appearance in the Marina or nearby sandbanks. The sunsets alone are worth the few minutes walk. For guests that would like breakfast there are several outlets just a couple of minutes away that do wonderful all day breakfasts.
Originally from the wonderful land of Gloucestershire, I fell in love with Devon and now enjoy helping others enjoy what Country Life magazine voted England’s best county.
Exmouth is one of the oldest and most picturesque seaside towns in Devon. The town is the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and has two miles of sandy beach, which is perfect for water sports and walks. Exmouth is on the South east coast of Devon where the river Exe meets the sea. Close to Exeter, this vibrant town offers plenty of walking and cycling routes and water sports as well as local shops and restaurants to enjoy all year round. Things to do in Exmouth Exmouth is known as a regional centre for water sports – particularly Kite Surfing, kayaking and windsurfing – but you can do pretty much any water sport here. Exmouth Beach is a beautiful sandy golden beach, perfect for summer days at the seaside, building sandcastles, swimming or playing in the rockpools, or try Sandy Bay - a haf mile private beach in a secluded bay. Take a scenic boat trip out across the coast to take in the breathtaking scenery and local history. The picturesque Exe Estuary cycle trail runs from Exmouth to Dawlish along the banks of the estuary, passing many wildlife spots, cafes, shops and coastal towns, making it the ideal place for an active day out exploring Exmouth and about.
