A family run business since 2007 and run by dedicated team of 6 staff, we love the people who come to visit and remind us every day what an incredible place this is. We welcome everyone, from solo travellers to couples and families from all over the world. Property information

The Lighthouse is a beautiful 16th century Farm House set in a 35 acre parkland with lakes, woodland and incredible walks on site. The property is on the edge of the Mendip Hills with the historic market town of Frome just 5 minutes away. The Lighthouse has its very own Adventure Shipwreck Playground for kids of all ages, plus a Japanese Garden on its south facing terrace for those who want to sit and enjoy the views and sunshine. Our family suites can accommodate families of 5, our Superior Doubles and family rooms easily cater for families of 3. There is an independent award winning Cafe offering sweet and savoury food (open 9am - 5pm Tue - Sun).

Neighbourhood information

The Lighthouse is a 15 minute drive from Longleat Safari Park and 25 minutes from the National Trust property of 'Stourhead' and the city of Wells, renowned for it's Cathedral. Further afield are the amazing heights of Cheddar Gorge, the historic city of Bath and retail opportunities such as Clark's Village in Street and Kilver Court Designer Village in Shepton Mallet. Closer to home is the market town of Frome, which regularly ranks in the top 10 places to live in Britain. Frome is best explored on foot, especially Stony Street, Catherine Hill and Cheap Street with a range of independent shops offering a wide range of goods. There are also a wide range of local walking routes, as The Lighthouse is situated close to the Mendip Hills and The Mendip Way.
