We loved the character of the house and it was obvious it had been renovated to a high standard. We went for a couple of local walks which were lovely. The house was warm and the facilities in the kitchen were very good. We were a group of ladies...

Property information

This big-hearted, Grade II listed farmhouse beams with charm that and has been lovingly restored for families and groups seeking a wonderful outdoor escape. We can comfortably sleep 12 with space for an extra 5 on sofa beds and welcome well behaved dogs - so the whole family can come! Dating back to 1652, it's one of the oldest farmhouses in the Rhonda Valley and is said to be home to a couple of friendly ghosts (they're great company, we promise!). Nestled in the heart of the Rhonda Valley, it's the perfect spot for exploring the great outdoors, whether you're a walker, cyclist, mountain biker, or wild swimmer. We're happy to host single-sex groups and festive gatherings too, so bring your gang and let the adventure begin! The house is perfectly located for accessing the new Zip World South Wales (approx 10 mins drive), Bike Park Wales (approx 20 minute drive) and the Brecon Beacons. The local town of Treorchy was voted winner of 'The Great British High Street Awards' in 2019. With a whopping 80% of its businesses being independent boutiques, this charming town offers a shopping experience like no other. And if that's not enough to make you pack your bags and hit the road, Treorchy is a year-round wonderland of activities, from outdoor cinema nights under the stars to art festivals that will leave you awestruck. No matter how you choose to spend your stay, we hope your time at Tynewydd Farm brings a sense of peace and restoration.

Neighbourhood information

Most guests come to Tynewydd to spend time outdoors in the beautiful Brecon Beacons and with Bike Park Wales and Black Mountain bike park both nearby, the house is particularly well placed for mountain bikers. Thanks to our large driveway, up to 6 cars can be accommodated on site and there's safe storage for those precious 2 wheelers. For hikers (and wild swimmers), the Four Waterfalls walk is close by too. This trail treats you to breathtaking sights of the Brecon Beacons National Park, giving you access to the majestic 'Four Waterfalls': Sgwd Clun-Gwyn, Sgwd Isaf Clun-Gwyn, Sgwd y Pannwr, and Sgwd yr Eira. Don't miss this natural wonder! And for thrill seekers, the newest Zip World centre (Zip World South Wales) is 10 minutes away. Home to the Phoenix zip line - the world’s fastest seated zip line, with 4 parallel lines in 2 separate zip zones, Tower Climber obstacle course and Tower Flyer zip line.
