“Tanani Newa Home” is situated at Tanani Tole, Patan Dhoka, one of the gate way of UNESCO world heritage site THE PATAN DARBAR SQUARE, which is very popular for live cultural show, sculpture, art and Newari architecture. Tanani Newa Home is a complete fusion of Newari architecture and cosmopolitan style run by Maharjan Family. It is recently rebuilt in Newari style which was completely demolished by 2015 earthquake.
I am a civil engineer. Me and my wife (Shova), who is an architect, designed Tanani Newa Home. Rooms and furniture of this homestay are designed by us. We are interested in learning, art and cultures around the world. We love to share and listen to stories of ups and down of life. In Nepalese culture, guest is symbolized as God, and we believe in it. We (Maharjan family) are eager to welcome our guests. Welcome to Tanani Newa Home!
Tanani Newa Home is located at Tanani Chowk. Tanani Chowk is area of dwellings of Newars. Thus there occurs many feast and festivals, bhajans (prayers in group) and many activities of our community which you may find interesting. We, maharjan family are waiting you to welcome in our house. Please come and stay in our house and feel the uniqueness of our locality. Patan Darbar Square is within 10 minutes walking distance from Tanani Newa Home. Nepal’s popular shopping malls, supermarkets, restaurants and bars like Labin Mall, Bhabahteni supermarket, Namaste supermarket, Saleways supermarket, Dhokai ma Café and Cafe Cheeno are all within 5-minute walking distance. Jhamsikhel and UN Complex are also within walking distance. It is 30 minutes far from Tribhvan International Airport. Bus park and taxi stands are available nearby.
