Right on Tyne is a small, family run short-stay-accommodation-business. It is located in the beautiful sea town of Oamaru, in the South Island of New Zealand. 80 km (50 mi) south of Timaru and 120 km (75mi) north of Dunedin on the Pacific coast. Oamaru is famous for its limestone, the Steam Punk HQ, Victorian Heritage, the Blue Penguin Colony and its friendly community.
Being completely refurbished in 2023, our property has had a full makeover. This warm and bright 1-bedroom cottage has a contemporary and relaxed boutique style interior, containing a modern bathroom with an easy access shower, a toilette, a washing machine (and dryer). Hair dryer and clothes-drying-rack are also available. The bedroom consists of a Queen-sized bed with a medium plush chiropractic mattress, 2 bedside tables with drawers, a wardrobe with coat hangers, and a coat rack on the wall. An ironing board, iron and spare/firmer pillows are available too. The separate lounge/dining area provides a comfortable leather couch, a tv with Netflix and free view tv programs, a couch table, chairs and a fold-out dining table. The wall is decorated with artwork from a local artist/photographer. Within the living area is an open-plan single wall, fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, electric oven, rangehood, sink, microwave and dishwasher. There is a toaster, kettle, coffee machine, and of course cutlery, cups, glasses, plates, pots/pans and all essential kitchen equipment. The big double glazed French doors invite to the outside deck and barbeque area with a couple of chairs, a table, a sun-umbrella and a barbeque. Our guest will be able to enjoy the sea views from the bedroom, lounge and the outside deck. The property also consists of a new and adjustable heat pump, or heater and air-conditioner. All appliances, cook and dinner ware, as well as linen, towels and beddings are all of very good and high quality. We take pride and time in the daily cleaning and maintenance procedures on the cottage.
Welcome to Right On Tyne!
Hi. We are Violeta and Scott, and this is our small family business with a multicultural background. Having met my "Kiwi" in Europe we have lived and travelled around the world. We were very fortunate to have experienced and enjoyed many holidays in very different accommodations with different hospitality services. So, when we found this little gem in such a beautiful spot we immediately envisioned what we wanted to do with it.
It was the worst house in the best street! But with its location and views, a bit of hard work and a lot of love put into it, we knew it would be a great destination for a special getaway. I personally enjoy the design, layout decorating and managing of the interior. Scott is more the hands-on build and repair man. We still have a lot more imagination and improvement to go for. And as Scott tends to say: "Rome wasn't built in a day"... This is true, and therefore we certainly have not stopped yet, and will continue to innovate and improve along our venture.
We have a true passion in meeting people, especially from different countries, with different cultures, and simply hearing about all their different and unique stories.
Our aim is to provide our guests with the best possible comfort and enjoyment. We take pride of our customer service and the quality we deliver. It is so incredibly rewarding to be part of our guest's enjoyable experience and a positive memory of their holidays. We don't only want our guests to leave our accommodation with a fulfilled smile, we want you to always feel home when thinking of us.
