Nestled on the lower slopes of Mount Talinis just 900 meters from Valencia proper, the property is set back some 80 meters from Legarda Street. Whilst intended for two pax, the unit has two queen beds in it so additional guests can be accommodated upon request at an additional charge. The unit has its own cooking facility and is fully equipped with all the necessary pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. The location is extremely quiet at night, ensuring a good night's sleep, with the exception of October 12 which is when Valencia celebrates it's annual fiesta!!!
The property is serviced by two fast fiber internet servers (PLDT and Globe) and has an in-house generator to cover the occasional scheduled or weather-induced power outages. There are also Honda Beat scooters available for rent should our guests require a small runaround. We can also arrange for larger options, such as NMaxes, to be delivered to coincide with guest arrivals if requested. We can also arrange airport or pier transfers.
I am a 32 year old Filipina and have spent many years in the hospitality industry, ably assisted by my elder sister Amie and her Anglo-Brazilian husband Barry. One of the most rewarding aspects of this occupation is the opportunity it affords to meet and forge friendships with guests of many nationalities. I am proud to say that many of our guests have ended up making their homes here in Valencia and have become personal friends. I like to think that this may be attributable in some small way to our policy of going the extra mile whenever possible to make our guests' stays more enjoyable, coupled with the personal touch that only a small family-run concern can provide.
Valencia is a small, sleepy town just 13kms from Dumaguete City. Being at a higher elevation, on the lower slopes of Mount Talinis it is considerably cooler than Dumaguete itself, particularly at night. It is a popular hub for nature lovers, with a great selection of hiking options and mountain bike trails in close proximity. There are also has several thermal springs and nature resorts within a few minutes ride of the property. Valencia proper has a good selection of restaurants within easy reach, catering to our overseas guests, as well as the increasingly popular attraction of Valencia Plaza's Sunday market which is proving a great draw for both locals and overseas guests alike
The main forms of transport are private motorcycles/scooters, trisikad
(motorcycle with sidecar that can accommodate 4 or 5 passengers that can be flagged down anywhere) or jeepneys that run a regular service between Valencia and downtown Dumaguete. Food, vegetables, fruit, fish and meat are always available in the central market and Valencia has 5 ATMs, a number of pharmacies and several extremely well stocked convenience stores, meaning that all grocery shopping can be done without visiting downtown!
