The Wood-Upjohn House W. South St Historic District, Kalamazoo, Michigan. The lavish Italianate Villa was constructed for William A. Wood, successful banker with the Michigan National Bank in 1878. Sadly William Died shortly thereafter. His widow, Sarah Wood, remained in the house until just after the turn of the century. In 1905, the Villa was purchased by William E. Upjohn, President of the Upjohn Company, a pharmaceutical manufacturing firm, as well as other businesses involvements and acted as President of Kalamazoo. After his death, his widow lived in the home until the 1950s.
Welcome to the Upjohn Inn. We are excited for your arrival. The Upjohn is located approximately .4 miles from Henderson Castle Inn. All Upjohn guests are welcome to use the Castle amenities and breakfast is served at the Castle. Guest must check in at the Henderson Castle prior to going to Upjohn Inn.
