Newmarket is centrally located in Alberton and the East Rand. It's an established area with an abundance of shopping malls, places to eat and things to do. For the outdoorsy there are nature walks at Rietvlei Zoo Farm with more serious hiking to be found at the nearby Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve. Reading Country Club, offers Golf & Bowling and the floodlit Newmarket Driving Range the chance to limber up for the former. The nearby Alberton Rugby & Cricket clubs are popular watering holes while the Tennis club offers anyone the chance of a couple of sets on a sunny day.
