After a night at a hostel, which was great, it felt like heaven. I'm doing the litoral route so about a 30 min detour. But 100 percent worth it. Host worked hard to make sure I was comfortable.

Staying at Solar de Vila Meã was a beautiful experience from start to finish. The first thing that struck me was the setting — it’s absolutely stunning. Surrounded by vineyards and peaceful countryside, the entire property feels like a hidden retreat. Every view, whether from the room, the pool, or the garden, looked like a painting. There’s a real sense of calm and space here that’s hard to describe but easy to fall in love with. The restaurant, Barro, completely exceeded expectations. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely proud of what they serve, which made the whole experience even more special. If you’re looking for a place that combines natural beauty with exceptional food and a sense of quiet luxury, I couldn’t recommend Solar de Vila Meã more highly.

Stayed here on one of my Camino stops and it was just perfection. Amazing place, super comfortable bed, and great outdoors area. It even has a padel court!!! Amazing view over the village for sunset and sunrise I was too tired to walk to dinner so the owner was an absolute legend and arranged a meal for me as well! Would definetly come back!

Friendliness of the staff from reception, house-keeping and restaurant staff. We have stayed here a number of times over the years and the outdoor terrace with seating, sun loungers and outdoor pool is the perfect area to relax. We visit Viana Do Castelo for family and Axis is in a great location to visit all the areas we need to which are all within walking distance. A lovely hotel.
