Wow, what a stunning property - the views are gorgeous! The hotel is beautiful and extremely peaceful. It is a bit outside the main town, which makes it a perfect place to stay if you want to be immersed in nature and more secluded from the crowds. We stayed in a chalet, and it was lovely, spacious and very clean. The views from the deck on the first floor and the huge A-frame window on the second floor are incredible. The pool is beautiful and the views from it are unbeatable, especially while sipping a fresh king coconut. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and all the food was excellent - some of the best food we had on our trip (and I’m Sri Lankan so I have a high standard). Everyone working at the hotel is very kind and wants to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The final drive to the hotel is a bit bumpy but not too long, and the hotel will pick you up from and drop you to the main road that goes into Ella town. It is a bit of a drive to Ella town and some of the main attractions in the area, but we felt this trade-off was completely worth it to stay in such a gorgeous, quiet, and comfortable setting. Highly recommend - we would definitely stay here again!

It was very clean, and everything was well furnished. We became a little (too) obsessed with the couch in the room. Breakfast was fantastic. The owners thought of everything - right down to having nail clippers in the room. For the price we paid, it was such a steal. We cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you!

This holiday home with mountain views features tiled floors, 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom with a hot tub, a bath or shower and slippers. Guests can take in the views of the lake from the balcony, which also has outdoor furniture. There is also a seating area and a fireplace. Very comfortable separate house with a great view and all facilities. It is a perfect place to relax on weekends, enjoy the silence and beautiful nature. The owner is very nice and helpful young lady and she cooked for us tasty breakfasts. We totally felt at home in this place.

The exceptional stylish and comfortable accommodation and beautiful gardens complimented the stunning views to Horton Plains NP , Udawalawe reservoir and the south coast . You awake each morning to the sound of birds while during the day it is so peaceful and relaxing . Thankfully no aircon needed here since the very fine insect screens allowed windows to be open to enjoy the fresh mountain air. We stayed in the deluxe suite downstairs which now has an additional dining area , and there are 3 lovely rooms upstairs . See the gorgeous pictures online . You can take a dip in the lovely pool or the owner Munira can suggest and help arrange other activities in the surrounding areas. Having driven for 5 weeks, this was a perfect spot to unwind . It was lovely to chat with Muni who built this wonderful property and all the staff who extended friendly and caring hospitality . Our best stay in Sri Lanka . Thank you Muni!

Recently had the pleasure of staying at the Royo Rock Ella Hotel, You are truly ontop of the world. The view is breathtaking, really magical. Make sure you get up at sunrise to see the stunning skies, hear the birds and the chanting too. The room was superb, way better than we expected actually and was huge. We had dinner in our room one night too which was a real treat. The Bathtub is great and a really lovely backdrop. The dinner was great and the breakfast was too. Special mention to the hotels Tuk Tuk driver who is on hand for trips into Ella and suggested a great place to stop for the best views of the 9 arch bridge.We felt really spoilt. The staff were really warm and welcoming. Thanks for a lovely stay..
