Monkey Thorn Lodge & Wellness Spa - Adults Only offers 5-star accommodation with a fitness centre, sauna and hot tub. Brilliant accommodation and perfect location for our one night stay after the Kruger Park. If we had known it was going to be so nice we would of stayed longer to tour the area. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was really good and plenty of choices. The breakfast was fab and delicious. You can not fault this lodge, from modern, spotless, clean, large, comfy rooms to the privacy and manicured gardens, we recommend it 100%.

At Lion Tree Top Lodge guests are welcome to take advantage of a hot tub. A special experience was staying at the Lion Tree Top Lodge in the Greater Kruger Park. At night you hear the lions roar, the hyenas call and the monkeys jump on the roof and terrace of your lodge. In the morning while you are under the outdoor shower you see the impalas and springboks pass by. During the day with a nice glass of wine by the pool you see the zebras drinking from the pond nearby. And close to the resort you can see the giraffes walk. A very special experience to see all those animals pass by your lodge. In the evening we had a very nice meal around the cozy campfire in the boma together with the super sweet hosts Brian and Lynn. The lodges are beautiful and equipped with all the necessities, separated from each other by wooden paths that provide the necessary privacy. So the resort seemed all to yourself. No mass tourism here like with the accommodations in the Kruger Park. In short, a real African bush experience in this small-scale, cozy resort, which was a highlight of our road trip through South Africa, thanks in part to Brian and Lynn.

All our suites are air-conditioned and architecturally designed offering modern comforts in an ancient setting. Each suite is provided with a private wooden deck, Jacuzzi, lounge area and an outside shower for those who are adventurous at heart. Beautiful setting, overlooking the Olifants River, very peaceful. Excellent game drives, good meals, and incredibly friendly, cheerful staff. Of the 3 lodges we stayed at in Greater Kruger, this was our favorite. A small-scale operation, efficiently run. Wonderful overall feeling.

The property was stunningly beautiful. It is set on an avocado and macadamia nut farm with an outstanding garden surrounding the main building and suites. The suites have private living rooms with fireplaces and the bedrooms are very spacious. The accommodations overall were exquisite.
