Be sure to witness the WWI ceremony nightly at 8:00 (20:00) at the Menin Gate! Arrive early to get a good place to stand. It is commendable that the people of Ypres/Leper have made good on their promise to always remember the soldiers who died in that war. It was also great to have an additional toilet to the main bathroom with a group of 4 of us. It is so close to all the sites, only a 5 minute walk to the museum and 9 minute walk to the Menin Gate. It was so clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable! The hosts met us on arrival and check out and they were so helpful. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here. The apt is beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, well designed and ideally located for exploring the Menin Gate and Cloth Market area. The proprietors are a wealth of knowledge of the history of the Ypres Salient and stock the apartment with books to assist you in deepening your understanding. Parking available. The room is very well appointed, the bed is comfy, and the air conditioning works! We did not include breakfast in our stay so I can’t comment on that. Everything is very clean and neat! There is a narrow staircase to negotiate, but we had no trouble.
