Cochem Castle
From its hilltop perch, this grandiose castle dominates the sky over Cochem. The original 12th-century construction was destroyed in 1689, but some years later businessman Louis Ravené bought the ruins and erected this magnificent Neo-Gothic beast as a summer residence. Not a bad spot for a second home.

There are 2 walking routes to the castle.
There are 2 walking routes to the castle. One is more steep which is at the bottom of the castle's hill and is marked by a mini tower, the other one is a more gradual slop by Sabrina's Kitchen. She is available throughout the day and helps with any kind of requests with a smile. A bit away from Cochem town but the walk to the town is amazing. And the view of Cochem castle from the river facing rooms is mesmerizing! Parking is free, breakfast is included, what else do you need!
