For a few locations 5 stars raring is not enough, like Hotel Les Marechaux in Auxerre. The beautiful building, the location, the garden are all very nice. But... most remarkable is the atmosphere which is given by the hosts Isabelle and Fabian. Meeting them and you feel immediately welcome. There is no Ibis - or Accor hotel which can come any close to this level. The hotel has many old elements left, so everything remains in style. The rooms are spacious compared to most French hotels. The Wi-Fi is fast. There is enough (free) parking and the breakfast with (local) fruit perfect.

Great location, very central to the town. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy car parking. Best of all the place was spotlessly clean and the bathrooms are brand new.
