The staff was very friendly when I asked I could switch rooms, the front was very noisy in the first night. My second room was on the top floor on the side, much more quiet and with a balcony as a bonus! The wonderful breakfast buffet for only 8 pounds, 12 if you add a full English breakfast. It is part of The George on the opposite of the street, there you can check in and eat. Wonderful breakfast and dinner.

Star Anglia Hotel is less than 10 minutes' walk from Colchester Train Station and town centre and offers variety of bright rooms which have free WiFi and a private bathroom.

Very comfy bed, friendly staff and good location, walking distance into town. Free parking included next to the hotel. Was given the option to change to twin beds instead of the double, allowed the choose which we wanted which was nice.
