The hotel was beautiful, our room was spacious and clean. The location was also perfect - a metro stop away from the Railway station and a walking distance from the city center and many tourist attractions. We were highly impressed by the kindness of the hotel staff and management. We had additional requests about the organization of our trip and they were willing to advise and help us. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed !!! Extra clean , amazing furniture and extraordinary hot baths which were crystalline clean and was the best relaxation of the day! They also have an amazing terrace with a view all over Kyoto and where you can have your drink even during winter with hot foot bath and warming fireplace! It worth it every penny!!

We went there just before the golden week began and it...

We went there just before the golden week began and it really wasnt crowded at all! Great place to experience a more 'serene' (its a tourist attraction after all) and calm kyoto with the various small beautiful buildings on the grounds. I have to admit there is not a lot to see overall so if you want more indepth information i recommend going somewhere else - 600¥ is also a bit higher than usual but if you want to take a break of crowded kyoto thats the place! Good sanitary facilities and a small teahouse with the typical green tea and sweets at the end. The small shrine in front is also worth visiting with a very nice stairway from the streets from kyoto and a small ice cream booth (matcha ice is recommended). the surroundings are also worth checking out with another nice buddhist temple and traditional vendor's streets close by. Don't forget checking out the small bamboo grove on the tour walk-through! 4/5 stars would come back.
