We stayed for two night during our honeymoon and couldn’t be happier with the experience.
It was an authentic yet luxurious Ryokan. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotless and it even had its own onsen. The food was exceptional and the staff was very well trained and extremely friendly. Highly recommended this hotel and would love to go back on day.

The hotel offers rooms in a traditional style, while we also enjoyed wearing national yukata dresses and taking onsen baths, which are included. We have heard a lot about excellent Japanese service and now we indeed experienced it. The personnel approaches each customer with personal touch and satisfies individual needs. A so nice and memorable stay at Tsubakino!

Akira gave us a lift from the Yudanaka station to the Ryokan, and was very attentive to every need we might have during our stay. The Ryokan is beautiful and cosy, especially with the kotatsu in the bedroom! There is two Onsen in the hotel, which you can book for a 40min time slot where you can shower and relax. There is a welcoming and comfortable coffee lounge open throughout the day. The hotel shuttle brought us to and fro Yudanaka Station without delays. The Snow Monkey Park is a nice one hour walk away by foot through quiet village roads. Otherwise, transport is provided by the hotel shuttle to the bus station for a 15 min ride to the park entrance. The accommodation is lovely, futon are incredibly comfortable, and the staff at the hotel will assist you with anything! They provided us with breakfast at no charge and personally drove us to the snow monkeys and the local ski field. Loveliest hosts of all our travels through Japan! I could and am very grateful! It was super delicious, with a endless variety of dishes. The hotel itself is very cosy, with comfortable, clean and spacious Japanese-style rooms (six or seven I believe), while having two onsen baths! We requested pickup at Yudanaka station due to large group and the hotel staff replied promptly and showed up on time. Only A few of them could speak good english. They were also very attentive and meticulous in explaining the use of slippers, hot bath facilities nearby. Shibu onsen is within walking distance but restaurants were limited and many not open for dinner during our stay on dec 8.
