Wat Arun

Nestled on the west bank of the Chao Phraya, Wat Arun is known for the way the morning light makes it look like it’s glowing – hence its Thai name, Temple of the Dawn. Whatever time of day you choose to visit, you’ll fall in love with the beautiful architecture of this historic site. Brace yourself for the stairs to the top, and you’ll be rewarded with gorgeous views over the city.

Most beautiful temple, I recommend going at dusk.

Most beautiful temple, I recommend going at dusk. If you come from the ferry, you won't see it, but outside the other entrance you can rent traditional Thai clothes to take pictures in at the temple.

Known as the Temple of the Dawn, Wat Arun is a must-visit gem, exuding a distinctive charm from its towering silhouette. Conveniently located just a ferry stop from The Grand Palace, this unique temple justifies its 200 THB entry fee with its captivating allure. For the best experience, plan an early morning visit—ideally before or after exploring The Grand Palace—to fully appreciate its serene beauty.

The monument it's self is beautiful and I would have loved to stay and see/explore more but it is crawling with tourists. To the point that you can't really walk around it or get a nice picture as there are so many photo shoots being had on the steps on the walkway around it and on the grounds. Made it really unenjoyable and took ALL the reverence away from the place.

Stayed in the panoramic view suite—the view was incredible. Could see from the Rama IV? bridge all the way across downtown to Wat Arun, unobstructed. The view alone was worth it, but the room was also spacious and clean with a few charming Thai accents. The location of the hotel was convenient, on top of a local market, and a 4 minute walk from the local ferry across the river (4.5 Baht per ride per person, leaving every 10 min or so).

The location is very close to the palace and easy walking distance to Khao San road and other points of interest. Not too far from Wat Arun (with water taxi). There are a lot of small food shops and carts in the area, various places to get coffee, and a 7-Eleven right next door. The staff is wonderful -- very friendly and accommodating.

The hotel was located next to the grand palace, Wat Arun and Wat Pho. It had a nice rooftop pool with day beds and on the rooftop you had a nice view of Bangkok. The staff were nice and the welcome drink was a delicious tea with a cold towel.
