Beautiful new, very clean hotel. Room was spacious, with a sofa and large bathroom with separate shower and separate toilet. The breakfast was outstanding! A really varied and high quality selection, we looked forward to it every day. The pool was excellent, a welcome relief in the hot afternoons. Location was superb, within walking distance or a short taxi ride from the main streets and sights.

We booked The StandardX due to its location on the river - and it was really great to sit on the terrace and watch the boats while having breakfast, also the rooftop bar provided a nice view and pool area. Phra Arthit pier is right in front of the hotel, perfect to catch the public transport boats. We had a room facing the street which still was quiet due to good isolation. The breakfast was very good, the employees very friendly and helpful. Another highlight: the art exhibitions in the lobby.

literally a little oasis in the busyness of bangkok city. walking through the lush greenery into the refurnished compound is just one our favourite things each time we returned. amazing room design, great service - loved that you could hear jazz playing from downstairs while you chilled in your room. very spacious, great beds and shower. best thing is, you're surrounded by cats <3 there are many who live around the compound. there's piccolo vicolo right downstairs if you need a good cup of coffee (great selection of local beans), a small homecooked thai restaurant, and a zine shop! great artbooks and designery, cute trinkets.

Perched atop a mound, Wat Saket demands an arduous ascent up an exceptionally steep and numerous set of stairs, diminishing its overall appeal. Compared to the many Buddhist temples in Bangkok that offer far easier access, this one pales in convenience. Should you seek a taxing climb under the relentless Bangkok sun, Wat Saket may suffice; otherwise, it’s an attraction entirely worth skipping.
