I have a problem usually with Fatih hotels because they tend to oldish, not so clean, and the management a bit unprofessional as per my experience of visiting Istanbul since 10 years BUT this hotel truly amazed me: • A true management that can make creative solutions to any problem. I had a booking issue with booking.com versus the room availability and they went and beyond to make me feel comfortable and had arranged for me another top class hotel to stay at until they had a room available. Mr. Serdar is a true manager. • Cleanliness, the rooms are impeccable! I am a clean freak so me saying this means the hotel is extremely clean. towels, bed sheets, floor, mirrors, all are clean. Bathroom also. • Breakfast is yummy and fresh. I had one item that I was craving which wasn’t available, they made sure to make it for me. • I was sick and they asked if I need anything but also made me tea, lemon and mint drinks constantly so I feel better! this is a family vibe hotel • Location is excellent for persons interested in being around Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, etc.. Thanks to every single person in the hotel from the receptionists to breakfast team to the helpers with the bags to everyone. Especially thanks to Mr. Serdar & Mr. Midhat

Hagia Sophia

In 537 AD, Hagia Sophia began life as a church, before becoming an Ottoman mosque in 1453. The largest cathedral in the world for almost a thousand years, this majestic building is considered one of the finest surviving examples of Byzantine architecture. Today, you can go inside and explore both the colossal structure as well as its museum.

Very old and full of history it has had many different lives & purposes over the centuries. Some of the paintings on the walls are still visible & tell a story. Did a guided tour and it was definitely worth it.

Queues, Queues and more queues. But worth it.

Queues, Queues and more queues. But worth it. Do not bother with the AR experience which costs an extra 1250 TL (£25) each. The entrance is roughly £25 to get in if you buy it at the ticket office, make sure you ask for the basic tour otherwise they include the AR experience as a default. Amazing mosaics and beautiful architecture.

Sadly tourists can only go around the upper level.

Sadly tourists can only go around the upper level. Previously you could get in on the ground floor and experience the wonderful open space of the huge dome above you. It is still possible to see some of the dome and the structure is very interesting but a slight disappointment. However , it is an amazing old structure. Small number of mosaics still visible. Better and more extensive mosaics at the Kariye Camii if mosaics are of interest.

This was the most incredible part of Istanbul.

This was the most incredible part of Istanbul. Again ensure proper attire or you have to pay for covering. The interplay of Christianity and the Muslim faith, and neither chose to desicrate the other. Just be aware that you will only be able to visit the upper section unless you're a practising muslim.

Its a pity that such an UNESCO monument was turned into a Muslim Cami. And it is discrimination that all non Muslims cannot visit the whole area. As a Greek and orthodox I felt very sorry of the destructions of all the inside ( almost). This should be a museum open for all ,independent on their beliefs. Civilization is not looking into beliefs. Should be respected within centuries.

Oh, what a delight.

Oh, what a delight. I’m an open minded Christian so I appreciate such a wonderful and special place is still in place. You have to admitted if it wasn’t the Muslims it (probably) shared the fate of Acropolis. Is a wonder it does not crumble during times. Really. I was not able to take two straight pictures in a row, such a marvel of architecture is it, patch after patch. Is not the Pantheon, is not Basilica di San Pietro, but is still there. I also have to appreciate they respect the history and prior faith and do not cover part of the old (Christinas) paintings.

The hotel is conveniently located close to a tram station and easy to go to most touristy places like Hagia Sophia, The Blue Mosque and The Grand Bazaar. A clean hotel with wonderful employees. The ladies who served breakfast were very nice and attentive and also the gentleman at the front desk who upon request he changed our room with a bigger one. Like most hotels in that part of the city it’s not big and a little dated but it has character. Overall it offered a good experience and good value for the money.

Everything was great! The location was perfect — just 5 minutes from Galata Tower and Karaköy Harbor, and about a 40-minute walk to Hagia Sophia. There are nice local restaurants nearby, and although it’s next to a main road, the room was very quiet. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were kind, friendly, and very helpful. We also booked an airport transfer through the hotel for 700 TRY, which was the cheapest option we found. Great quality for the price! Highly recommended.

This hotel in Sultanahmet is within easy walking distance to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds, plenty of hot water in the shower, a tea kettle and a mini refrigerator. An ample, varied, and delicious breakfast is served on the terrace each morning starting at 8:00. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially Atilla who works at the front desk during the day. The room was clean and well decorated. The staff was excellent. Handled questions and concerns without hesitation. Talked with the owner during a marvelous breakfast on the top level that overlooked the river. She spoke English and chatted with us for quite awhile, wanting to know how we were doing, where we from and was very proud of her facility. We could walk to the major both the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia as well as the bazaars. I would return to this hotel when coming back to Istanbul.
