The owner of the lodge might be the best Japanese person I’ve ever met - so lovely and helpful and friendly. The Onsen - a mix of cold and hot has also been my favourite of the trip. The breakfast every morning was varied & delicious!! The staff were very helpful & lovely. The rooms were clean . Plus it was only 300 metres from the ski lifts. Comfortable beds and cozy room with living area in room. Green tea and hot water to drink. Lodge manager offered to pick us up from train station and dropped us off at bus station when leaving. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast with many options (hot & cold) and they do a group dinner every 2-3 days. The onsen are nice, especially the outdoor ones.
