Our circular Hut room was surprisingly very spacious and comfortable. The view from the dining room deck is one the best I experienced in all my travels overlooking Mt Meru. As a bonus the location is just off the main route from Arusha to the major wildlife parks.

Gorgeous location, new lodge with lovely pool and terrace to enjoy the sunset with a drink. The rooms are well designed and spacious. An amazing thing I would like everyone to be aware of as I was originally not when I booked is that the profits go into their W.Wegener Foundation who supports young africans education, so guests contribute with their expenses to important social projects - amazing initiative! We also did the city trip and our guide was lovely!

I usually reserve high ratings for experiences that are truly extraordinary and memorable, and Shamba Lodge in Tanzania stands out as one such place. My husband and I had the privilege of staying here while we were on a road trip across the magnificent land of Tanzania. We were so smitten by the charm of Shamba Lodge, that we decided to return for our last night in Tanzania, turning our last hurrah into a memorable one. From the moment we arrived, we were astounded by the breathtaking views of Mount Meru, Tanzania's second highest peak, lush green hills that unfolded around us, as far as the eye could see and we were greeted with the warmest hospitality. The staff at Shamba Lodge has nailed the delicate balance between professionalism and friendliness. They showed genuine care for our comfort and needs, constantly going above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. The lodge itself is tucked away in Arusha's stunning landscape, surrounded by nature's bounty. It's an excellent retreat for travelers seeking tranquility and solace amidst their hectic daily schedules. The rooms were elegantly designed, and thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay.

Everything about this hotel was amazing: cleanliness, location, appearance, food, and people. The hotel is not in the city center, but that's actually a plus because it's very peaceful here. You can relax or work remotely if needed. Getting to the center is easy by minibus, taxi, or tuk-tuk. And the food here is absolutely delicious! 🥰 Breakfast always includes fresh fruits and crepes, but you can also request lunch or dinner, and you'll get wonderful, freshly prepared meals. A special thank you to Barack, who helped us with absolutely everything and made us feel at home.

    Really nice little oasis in the suburb of Arusha. Nice lodges and garden, nice staff, room was super clean, only thing was missing, around the pool was not really tidy, some leaves in the pool and around and the sunbeds were a bit dirty - only thing to complain about this stay. But anyway it was nice to relax there.

    Planet Lodge is super convenient, being on the outskirts of Arusha centre, on the Kilimanjaro side. It takes about an hour to get there from the airport. The staff were extremely welcoming and very happy to help. I stayed the day before embarking on my safari, and for two nights after the safari. The hotel is very quiet, and felt very safe. The bedrooms are nice and meet all your needs. Having a pool is a plus (although it was quite cold), and the food was generally very good.

    The lodge is very individual which we liked, definitely not a chain hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was nice but limited choice. We were only there for one night before heading out on Safari, but it was a nice place to rest after a long haul flight to get there.

    In the course of time, I have tried many lodges in Arusha, and Planet Lodge is my favourite place giving a very good value proposition. Lovely and caring staff, very good food both in breakfast and dinner, nice pool and restaurant/bar outlay. Lodges in the nice and well kept gardens are comfy, spacious and clean. In short, a very good place to stay.

    Unique lodge with great staff I booked online through booking.com but I didn’t except that the lodge will be nice like that and I found that this lodge has 5* service, it truly was overwhelming with how kind and courteous every single staff member I encountered. From the reception staff, to all staff to the lodge. Very attentive touch that was. The beds were so comfortable! I would highly recommend staying before, during or after your safari or staying all together while you are in Arusha!

    Staff was amazing. Peter the Driver, Gertrude at dining and Anna at front desk were standouts. Grounds were lovely. Best breakfast from lodges all week. Great about storing luggage for the week as well as interim during final day.
