The hosts were kind and helpful, and a lot of great and clean shared facilities. We booked three different rooms and they were all clean, spacious and with comfortable beds.

Towels and bed linen are provided in the lodge. Very special environment . We saw native birds and heard kiwis. Staff were kind and facilities were great . Bed was exceptionally comfortable . A continental breakfast is available at the lodge. The views were sensational and the apartment was fabulous! We were extremely lucky to get fresh baked bread the first morning and the second morning we got home made crossaints. Both mornings we had fresh fruit, yoghurt and condiments. Such an awesome place to end our Honeymoon and 3.5 week trip around New Zealand.

A patio with garden views is offered in all units. Our stay at Te Awa was the perfect welcome to New Zealand. Our hosts provided a personal experience for us in the Bay of Islands. The setting couldn’t have been more spectacular on the banks of the river, and our room was very comfortable and peaceful. We enjoyed the pool each afternoon, following a day of exploring, and watched the moon rise each evening from the expansive deck. Breakfasts were delicious and prepared us for a day of activity. We appreciated every recommendation provided by Martin and Joelson. They definitely set the bar for the rest of our time in New Zealand. If you have the chance to stay here, we couldn’t recommend it more highly!

It is an ideal stop to break the long drive from Cape Reinga back to Auckland.
