It was a perfect location for an early morning Hobbiton visit and the view over the hills was amazing.

The hosts have created a most beautiful and welcoming environment for their guests. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the children didn't want to leave. The breakfast provisions were delicious and plentiful with lots of items were locally sourced (fresh eggs from their own chickens - yum!). We originally had a tour booked our of Whitianga that was cancelled due to high winds. It truly was a blessing, because it meant we got to spend a whole day enjoying this beautiful spot, relaxing and rejuvenating. We enjoyed the night sky spa, the bath house, the rainforest walks, cooking on the feuerring, toasting marshmallows and just spending time together in this beautiful spot. The hosts Debbie and Ernst have really thought of everything, with provisions of walking shoes, gumboots and shovels for Hot Water Beach. We stayed in the self-contained Kiwi cabin and it was amazing, but the site also had the most beautiful and clean communal kitchen I have seen in my travels. The directions were great and everything was well signed so it was easy to find. I would highly recommend you include this place as an item on your itinerary, not just a place to lay your head at night as you trip around the North Island.

Clean facilities all around. Great conversations with Max, who is super knowledgeable and can answer most of your questions about NZ and the surrounding area. Delicious breakfast options. Loved the fact that there is no internet reception, just being present in the moment.

Situated in Cambridge in the Waikato region and Mystery Creek Events Centre reachable within 32 km, Lakeview Lodge Karapiro features accommodation with free WiFi, BBQ facilities, a garden and free private parking. Thé excellent lake views, drew us to the verandahs each night to enjoy the sunsets, starry skies and a beverage or two - even my grandson joined us for the moments of enjoying nature with hot chocolate - The lodge is very well designed and catered to our large group four queen rooms one twin share three toilet/showers large dining lounge area and well catered kitchen and laundry. Would definitely come back. Helen and Steven are wonderful hosts and offered us foods for breakfast - very thoughtful. Various points of interest - the sculptures and night lighting in the gardens, alpacas and family dogs, the veggie garden which Helen offered some food from . Thank you
