Incredible service and incredible overall experience. It's like staying in a fancy cabin in the snow. The lounge area with the giant fireplace is awesome, very nice food, very spacious rooms and first class facilities such as the onsens and indoor swimming pool. The decor could be interpreted as dated (as other reviews have stated) but we felt this simply adds to the warmth and cosiness of the establishment. The service here is seriously next level and it is fantastic value for money.

Amazing property with even more amazing staff. We stayed for two night during our honeymoon and couldn’t be happier with the experience. It was an authentic yet luxurious Ryokan. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotless and it even had its own onsen. The food was exceptional and the staff was very well trained and extremely friendly. Highly recommended this hotel and would love to go back on day.

Traditional Japanese style. Comfortable and central, with all amenities. Excellent, helpful and kind staff. Short walk to Yu road for the slopes. Delicious set Japanese dinner. Peaceful foyer with reading nook and small library, and superb little gift shop.

A 5-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Tawaraya offers Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV.

Great onsen inside the hotel, and possibility to book the outside onsen for a half-hour for a private use (by room). The staff was amazing, helpful and super kind. I absolutely enjoy the traditionnal breafast.
