The location is amazing. It's convenient, close to public transport and also close to many sightseeing areas. You also get a great view of Beppu from the area around the hostel. The interior of the hostel is fantastic, you could spend hours looking at all the decorations and talking about your favorite shows. Tosi was also an incredible host who went above and beyond to make my stay as special as possible.

We booked the premium room with tatami area. Our room was really spacious and clean. I really liked how there was a private garden in our room—really peaceful and lovely. When we entered the room, we were met with the living room, with a view of the garden where you can spend time on the veranda! There’s also a mini kitchen with cutleries! The dressing room, restroom, bathroom, and the best of them all the PRIVATE ONSEN were separated. (All of the rooms were really big!) There were two bedrooms—one in the tatami room where they laid out the futon for us. I really enjoyed the kaiseki course at their restaurant Matsuhide—each course was carefully crafted and use of local ingredients. And their breakfast was superb! They drove us to the Seikai building—the breakfast buffet had a large variety of Japanese dishes. It was really good too. Sadly, we only booked for a night, so we didn’t get to enjoy their various facilities as much as we’d like (there were the Gahama tower and onsen). Another thing I’d like to mention was the tea ceremony building! Read the history posted in front and was amazed by the historical significance of it!

Room was super clean and modern and felt very luxurious. Free beer in the lobby was awesome. Good location close to everything in Kannawa. On-site onsens were really nice. Staff was great.

This ryokan was comfortable and dreamy. We fell in love with the entire atmosphere. The food was very fancy and we got a special treatment due to my allergies to sea food. The staff was very helpful and kind and the language barrier was no problem at all, everyone was doing their best effort to make us feel welcome. I'd love to go back when we visit Japan in the future. Hopefully soon.

nice and clean onsen facility, great staff service, rooms are new and clean. highly recommend rooms with sea view. this location is also in the middle of major attractions of sanrio harmony land, african safari and umitamago/takesakiyama monkey zoo. about 15-20 mins drive to these locations when the traffic is light.

The apartment is in excellent repair and tastefully decorated. The queen-size bed was very comfortable for my wife and I, and the 'capsule style' futon cubby adjacent to the main room was enjoyed by my youngest daughter. My eldest daughter slept in one of the two futons provided on the floor. The single temperature control unit is adequate to either heat or cool the entire unit. It was very clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortable - the attention to detail was appreciated. The dedicated parking spaces were appreciated, as we drove to Beppu from Ibusuki and did not wish to park in an hourly lot upon arrival. We arrived much later than we had planned but found some restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance that were very convenient.
