My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at a sanatorium hotel for the first time, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The people were lovely, surrounded by breathtaking nature, and the numerous therapeutic procedures included in the accommodation made our stay even more special. The city itself impressed us with its natural beauty, fresh air, and mineral water that you can drink straight from the tap. I sincerely hope that many others will discover the wonders of Jermuk and, in particular, this hotel. These places are undoubtedly worth a visit. The staff is incredibly welcoming and pleasant. We had to check out very early, even before breakfast started, and they kindly packed a fantastic breakfast for us to take on the road. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a pleasant view of beautiful peaks from the window. Mountains are everywhere you look! Overall, our stay was filled with positive experiences, and we highly recommend this sanatorium hotel to anyone seeking a rejuvenating and serene escape. From the moment I arrived, I could tell this hotel was special. The staff were friendly and efficient, making check-in quick and easy. The hotel had a perfect balance of luxury and comfort in every detail. The room was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed. One of the best parts of my stay was the stunning heated pool area. It was the perfect spot to relax. The hotel also has an amazing library. It’s a peaceful, cozy place with a great selection of books, both classic and modern. I spent hours reading and enjoying the quiet. The restaurant exceeded my expectations, offering fresh and delicious dishes. The staff were attentive without being overwhelming, making each meal enjoyable. What really stood out was the exceptional customer service. Every staff member went out of their way to ensure my comfort and made great recommendations for things to do. Mariam was the star of this stay. A wonderful host that shared so much precious insight on Armenian culture, history and traditions. We chatted forever! The property is secluded and quiet which is exactly what we needed. There are a couple of rough patches driving up and the last few meters before the property is a dirt road but don’t let anyone scare you because it’s very easy to reach even with a very low clearance car as our rental. The food prepared for us for both dinner and breakfast was simply amazing. Tasty and earthy and home grown. Too bad we stayed only one night.

Gnishik is literally right at the end of the road, you can go no further, but the Eco Lodge certainly makes the journey worthwhile. The gent who let us in and gave us the keys was very pleasant and helpful and communication before arrival was excellent. It was made clear that the location was remote and that we would have to bring our food and drink with us. This was fine and the shared kitchen was very well equipped. We had a lovely en suite room upstairs with wonderful views from our balcony, especially of the beautiful rose garden in the back garden. We were also lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. There was a problem with the WiFi in the early evening, but it was quickly resolved and worked very well for us after that; not good enough to stream, but perfectly well for browsing, emails, etc. We parked in the drive in front of the Lodge, but there are zero security concerns. If you get the chance to visit, then we strongly suggest that you do. The drive south from Lake Sevan is truly spectacular. The last few kilometres of road were pot holed and slow going, but perfectly accessible if you drive slowly. Overall, this is a wonderful place to enjoy nature and relax and we loved our visit. Very highly recommended.
