Choosing this hotel on short notice turned out to be a fortunate decision after our prior reservation was canceled due to bed bug concerns. The pleasantly surprising coincidence offered us a room with a breathtaking lake and mountain view at half the cost of our initial booking. The delightful breakfast spread exceeded our expectations with its delicious offerings and abundant choices. Our overall experience was extremely satisfying, proving to be excellent value for money. A very cute house with a lovely owner who helped me with everything. The house was clean and very tidy. The town Bad aussee is about a 15 minute drive from Hallstatt and is the cutest and quietest one .

Amazingly restored historic building with a very relaxed and friendly, yet privacy respecting way. Common areas are beautiful and the whole place is an inspiration. Podenhaus is located comfortably in Bad Aussee in a way that it’s easy to make day-trips to nearby lakes. Bicycle rent is also nearby. Will surely be back!

    Excellent accommodation for several reasons: - very pleasant accommodation in a neighborhood with houses and gardens with lots of character - easy parking - Near Lake Altaussee (access by footpath in 10 minutes) and a shop - Walk around the lake possible (some lakes in Austria have private accesses which prevent you from going around) - a very nice inn at one end of the lake for a meal or coffee break - swimming and paddle - access to many walks in the area
