This was by far the best experience I have ever had in Costa Rica. I traveled to 15 different locations over 6 months and this host family was the most generous and helpful family I have ever known. They brought me food all the time (fruit, meat, vegetables and snacks) and even gas at one point for my car. They even took me in their Jeep to see a sunset. The facility itself is clean and impeccably maintained. The house has everything you need to cook with. You hear howler monkeys in the trees across the street and chickens next door. The outdoor living area is perfect for larger groups or families. There is a convenience store a short walk away where you can find some basic staples including some meat and vegetables but it is really small (one room) so I would suggest if you come for more than a couple days that you bring groceries with you because the bigger grocery stores are about 20 minutes away. The best part is you are in the country surrounded by farmland. The yard is completely fenced in for dogs. I felt safe with a relative living next door. Highly recommend!

What a special place! I wish we could have stayed longer. The views on the balcony are incredible. And the host took us on a trail on his property and we learned a lot about the local wildlife and plants. The place is set up with everything you need- great outdoor seating, a BBQ, games, coffee and comfortable beds. If you are in the area, I would 100% recommend this gem!

The place is beautiful and spacious. Very clean. Our host was amazing and went out of his way to make sure we weee comfortable. He even came by one evening and took us around the property to see jungle night critters! The gardens and veranda were fabulous.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The team of staff at Mystica were warm and welcoming. The room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view of the lake. The food at the restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed the sauna twice during our stay which is complimented by the natural dipping pool. We hope to return. The whole place was good vibes. We especially enjoyed the birdwatching and walking the meditation labyrinthe.
