The owner Reza is really lovely and speaks perfect English (with a British accent!). Tangkahan was a nice change from the much more touristy Bukit Lawang. We especially enjoyed our jungle tour, including tubing on the river, it was one of the most magical moments of our trip!! We also enjoyed mingling with locals and bathing at the nearby riverbank. You should definitely not miss out on this more remote part of the jungle!

The Jungle Guide is such a good organization. They organize trips through the jungle with stays in the jungle. the guides grew up in the jungle and share their knowledge Their english is well and they even organize karaoke evenings or play games with you in the jungle (card tricks etc). It was so much fun, I learnt a lot and I saw the Orang Utans in wild life, also many other monkey. Their lodge is placed at a hill over the river. The bungalows are simple, with a very comfortable bed. I will defetly go back.

This is juste the perfect place ! At the end of the village, so more quiet, front of the gorgeous river. My bungalow was huge and very charming. But most of all Tia welcome you in the best way. She's very kind and gives very good advices, so you can trust her to organise a treck in the forest. I did it and it was a magic moment ( and physical ! ). I love Bukit Lawang, it's a very beautiful place and you can trust me : go to Rambai Tree Jungle lodge you will love it !

This stay was an unbelievable experience! The location was great, because you are really in nature and the river is right next to it. We went on a 2-day trek and it was incredible to see an Orang-Utan mother and her baby! The guides were very funny and kind, I felt really comfortable. Another highlight was the BBQ we did together with live acoustic guitar music. Also we made the village tour where I learned how Tufo is made and the locals were all the friendliest people. The WIFI was working fantastically. It was the perfect get-away from the busy city life. I will definitely come again, thanks for everything.

Came to jhony’s for two days trekking tour through the jungle and was an incredible experience, from the start seeing orangutans and many monkeys around , the five start hotel in the jungle for the first night was special and the next day rafting to coming back to our a accomodation in Bukit lawang was the perfect close . Great experience for the jungle trek (4d / 3n) with Andi and the cook Alang-Pi ! Oui ma gaté ! We saw orang outans, various monkeys and a hornbill. We had a great time at the camp at night with Andi telling us stories. They were really listening to what we wanted to do and adapted the pace for us.

We had a great time at Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys! The property is beautiful and the owners, Sarah and Agus, make you feel at home from the minute you arrive. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Sarah assisted us in organising a 2 day 1 night jungle trek. The trek was amazing and we saw lots of animals including orangutans, monkeys, birds and a turtle. Our guide Tara was really experienced, informative and great company. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Lovely spacious rooms with gorgeous balcony and view. Rooms were very clean with flushing toilets! Easy walk into town where there’s lots of restaurants and a supermarket. The owner and staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. We felt very safe and welcome here. They cooked us lovely banana pancakes for breakfast and a lovely lunch.
