We fell in love with Kakurinbo from the second we walked up the beautiful temple entrance and met all the kind staff. We stayed in the garden view room for the first night, and sitting on the balcony drinking green tea was like something out of a fairytale. The dinner served in small little colourful plates was some of the best food we have had in Japan. Our stay was so incredible: experiencing the Buddhist monk morning prayers at the temple on the hill, bathing in the baths, doing morning yoga, hiking and chatting to the staff, that we actually ended up extending for two more nights. We couldn't recommend this place more strongly. It was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Japan.

Ken-san and his wife are lovely people and took good care of us. The rooms are spacious and the food was amazing. We recommend partaking in the prayers offered by Ken-san. We look forward to visiting the nishiren temple in Germany.

Getting away from it all – perfect place to relax, great views, ample buffet, really helpful and friendly staff, even though only one person could speak conversational English, everyone was accommodating and helpful using apps.

This was one of the best stops during our travels in Japan. We got picked up at the Fujinomiya train station by our hosts. We enjoyed riding the e-Bikes that we could rent from our host, as this allowed us to visit the local restaurants (we had a wonderful time with the locals at the お好み焼 和 Okonomiyaki restaurant) and the Kunugi Fish Farm, where we could fish with the family. Our host Hana was fantastic, she even arranged a drop-off at Fujinomiya train station outside of the regular drop-off trip, which is 10:30 am, so we could spend the morning in this fantastic rural area.

We had the most wonderful two nights at this guest house and truly recommend it - it’s an absolute hidden gem! The house is situated in the countryside with a perfect view of Mount Fuji. We booked both the room with a king-sized bed and Fuji view, as well as the superior room, since we were a family of four. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The shared bathroom is well organized by the hosts. There are two toilets, both equipped with traditional Japanese amenities. The hosts are incredibly friendly and accommodating. They go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. Since the guest house is a bit outside Fujinomiya, they offer a shuttle service to pick you up at Shin-Fuji Station. On the way to the guest house, the host kindly offered to stop at a local supermarket so we could buy some supplies. When we arrived, we were greeted with homemade Thai jelly with cream and iced green tea - it was delicious. At check-in, we mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary. Later that day, we were pleasantly surprised with some cake to celebrate - such a thoughtful gesture that really touched us. They offer two types of breakfast: Western style or Japanese/Thai style. We chose the Japanese/Thai option and highly recommend it - it’s a unique experience, very tasty, costs 800 Yen per person, and is definitely worth it. If you plan to visit the Fuji area, we strongly recommend booking this accommodation.

What a perfect stay around the mount Fuji! The location, the commodities, the apartment itself, everything was perfect and i couldn't expect more from this stay, the photos are completely fitting to the reality, it's even bigger that you can imagine before your arrival! The host was so nice despite my lack of communication with her, once again thanks to her! After a peacefully night, a 5 minutes walk will bring you to nice waterfalls with a view on the mount Fuji all along ! Breathtaking! Guys, I can only recommend you to book a trip, short or long, you will need only a few minutes to feel like home and to enjoy the place, on lucky day you'll be even able to see the ocean in the back! I found this homestay looking for a nice place near Mount Fuji at a cheap price, where I could admire the mountain and go on excursions in the surrounding area. I found everything here:) Both the place and the family that runs it are very nice. When you arrive at the station the hostess can pick you up in her car for a very affordable price. It is a very simple guest house with no frills, but it offers everything that the traveler needs, at a very reasonable price. Keep in mind that they also offer one free meal a day, whether lunch or dinner. In this sense, it surprised me. pleasantly, because I told them that I was vegetarian and they made an effort to cook something different and delicious every day, I’m very grateful for that. The accommodation itself has a restaurant with exquisite and carefully prepared dishes. The majestic Fuji is right above, you can see it when you leave the accommodation and walk a few steps, you can take beautiful photos. 20 meters from the rooms there is a very beautiful small waterfall and a stream over which the path runs to Take the bus to visit the town of Fujinomiya, it is located about 15 minutes walk along a beautiful path that runs through a forest and areas of more rural Japan. The bus will leave you in Fujinomiya in about 20 minutes, there you will find the Mount Fuji World Heritage Center, a modern facility where you will learn everything about Mount Fuji. Right next door are some food stalls where they offer the famous Fujinomiya Yakisoba and two steps away is the Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine. There is another beautiful excursion to visit Shiraito Falls. there are much more things to do, for example visit some of the Onsen in the area, just ask to your hostess. The accommodation has only been on Booking.com for a very short time, previously they only hosted local people, so they will appreciate your advice to improve the service and its facilities. In short, a great base for visiting Fuji and its surroundings.
