Backwaters was a lovely spot on the doorstep to the western gate of Wilpattu. They organised a game drive for us (where we saw lots), a river trip and boat ride to our next destination. The rooms and grounds are full of nice, environmentally friendly touches, and the meals are great. Since the centre of the park is a little ways from this gate, a full day game drive turned out to be better than a half day - and allowed usto see lots of elephants at the end of the day.

Our stay at Wild Wadi Wilpattu was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and incredible service. We had the opportunity to embark on two incredible safaris with the knowledgeable and friendly staff. The wildlife safari was absolutely breathtaking—we were lucky enough to spot leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and so much more in their natural habitat. The boat trip through the mangroves and lagoon was equally magical, offering stunning views and an up-close encounter with Sri Lanka’s diverse ecosystem. The food was simply outstanding—authentic Sri Lankan cuisine at its finest! Both breakfast and dinner were full of flavour, freshly prepared, and truly showcased the best of local dishes. The accommodation was comfortable, well-equipped, and immersed in nature. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle, surrounded by monkeys and wildlife, was an unforgettable experience. It felt like a true escape into the heart of Sri Lanka’s wilderness. What truly made our stay so special was the wonderful staff and the incredibly kind owner, who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. Their passion for hospitality and wildlife made us feel right at home. And last but not least—the absolute star of our stay was Duan, the owner’s young puppy. He is, without a doubt, the most adorable and charming little dog we’ve ever met! We had a wonderful time here. The room was very comfortable and clean, with a private pool and a beautiful river view. The bed was super cozy and the AC worked perfectly. Breakfast was excellent and really delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend this place if you're visiting Wilpattu!

We had a wonderful stay at Raalmadu Wilpattu. The safari experience was absolutely amazing, and the natural surroundings made it truly special. The hotel manager, Kuma, took excellent care of us and always made sure we felt welcome and looked after. The room was simple and rustic, but that’s exactly what you would expect in the middle of the jungle — it added to the charm and authentic feeling of the place. The only small downside was that the private pool next to our room wasn’t usable at the time. However, they are currently building a larger pool, and we are sure it will be fantastic once it’s finished. Overall, we can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique jungle experience with warm hospitality and unforgettable safaris!

The location is incredible right next to the river and the territory is very clean. We slept on a tree house and it was really cosy with nature sounds. We stayed two nights and did a full day safari that was organized by a host. In the early morning we took a walk around the village and enjoyed local hospitality. Definitely recommend this hidden gem!

We enjoyed delicious home-cooked meals, especially the breakfast and dinner, which were full of local flavors. The highlight of our stay was the kayaking, lagoon safari, and camping experiences. Being so close to Wilpattu National Park, we also joined a thrilling safari and spotted incredible wildlife. The resort even has its own island and two camping sites, perfect for adventure lovers. The peaceful riverside setting, friendly staff, and unique activities like fishing, cycling, and boat tours make this place truly special. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway near nature with a mix of comfort and adventure, Wilpattu Nature Resort is the perfect choice!

A Perfect Start to Our Sri Lanka Adventure – Moni Farmhouse, Wilpattu Our stay at Moni Farmhouse in Wilpattu was nothing short of exceptional. From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organized by Buddika, who managed our transfers, meals, accommodation, and safari experience with incredible professionalism and kindness. He personally arranged our pick-up from Negombo, coordinated the drive to Wilpattu, and took care of every detail of our stay. The following day, we enjoyed a full-day safari in Wilpattu National Park, which I highly recommend! We were lucky enough to spot sloth bears, leopards, and elephants—a truly unforgettable experience. Moni Farmhouse is brand new and beautifully designed. It felt like staying in a private suite surrounded by nature, offering peace, comfort, and total immersion in the wilderness. All our meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—were freshly prepared and delicious. After our stay, Buddika also arranged our transfer to Anuradhapura, making everything seamless and stress-free. We are deeply grateful to Buddika for his warm welcome and outstanding hospitality. Thanks to him, our journey through Sri Lanka started in the best possible way. Highly recommended!

We had a great time…. The place is just amazing.. We wanted to spend a few days to have a rest before another exploring of Sri Lanka… You have to take a boat (5 min) to get to the beach - very good spot for kiting…. We travel with our 8 years old son, so spent couple nice days at the beach. Room was spacious and clean… our special thanks is to Ansalis and Madushan who took an extraordinary care of us and made our stay unforgettable. Bur the whole staff was very friendly and helpful with anything…. THANK YOU 😃
