The villa is well laid out with all required facilities. It's clean and tidy. The owner was there to receive us and to handover the property. He is very plesent, friendly and corporative. We had full prevacy, comfort and all the freedom. The most liked pat was that the owner allowed our pet dog Labrador to stay with us. Our Labrador was the most enjoyed and thrilled out of all of us, as the dog enjoyed the garden freely by playing and jumping in to the pond in front of the property. The facilities are luxurious and entire property is equipped to satisfy our full expectations.

One of the best experiences I had in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan are in general very warm and caring people, but these guys were exceptional. I had some problems with my bike on the way up, they picked me up and helped me to get it fixed. The contact was very easy and reliable over WhatsApp. Yes, the place is away from everything, but that’s what you‘re looking for if you go there and they make the access easy for you. They either send you the location to get there or pick you up and drive you safely with their jeep for the last part. Magic place, the cabin was simple but very clean, the perfect balance between being in nature and having a comfortable bed and good sanitaries. They offer very good breakfast, lunch and dinner and organise different tours to the rain forest (with transport). Thank you again for your help and for making my stay so special, I’d always come again!

Amazing place! There is only huge glass window between you and the nature. The room is perfectly clean and nice. The host is very welcoming and frendly. The best guide who is professionaly seek animals, tells about the forest tenderly, loving and fascinating.

If you are looking for a quiet homestay in the middle of nature very close to a river and two of the forest reserve entrances, please choose Vini Villa. Being a solo traveller, I really appreciated Vini's and his family's friendliness and hospitality. They will always make sure to cater to their guests' every needs. Food was plentiful and delicious. Vini, the owner, is also very knowledgeable about the forest and animals that live around his home village and will be happy to show you around the rain forest and its many wonders if you wish so. I really enjoyed my time at Vini Villa's for 10 days and the many hikes I went on in the forest and around the village. I wish I could have stayed longer. It was hard to say bye to Vini and his lovely family.

The location and the whole estate are a sanctuary of calmness. The rooms have a view of the rainforest. There is a space next to an 800-year-old tree for meditation or yoga. The estate contains native trees, animals, and eatable plants to explore. Stuff is always welcome to explain.

We enjoyed our stay at Sinharaja Rest very much. Maps may not for some reasons show the exact directions as there is a newer road uphill that one should take to reach the place. Relying on map directions we ended knocking on the neighbours' door but they kindly showed us the right direction : ) The place is an excellent starting point for a rainforest tour. The host organized a six hour rainforest tour for us and also took us to the bus station when we left, so we were very well looked after. The rainforest tour was awesome! We saw lots of birds, some monkeys and some snakes and our guide was very knowledgeable. Special care should be taken to keep leeches off as they are hungry and crawl faster than you might imagine. We were provided leech socks by the host that kept most of them away, but I still donated some blood to a couple of leeches. It may be a good idea to take some adhesive bandages with you to stop the bleeding. Sinharaja Rest is located at the edge of the village, so one can sit on the terrace and absorb the village sounds and listen to birds singing. Where to start? Hemal is such a such a kind guy and the best host you can imagine. It’s a new hotel so I was happy to be the first client. The hotel is at the entrance of the park and besides the great and spacious rooms as well as great food made by his wife, Hemal is an awesome forst guide that spots animals from a distance away! I did both the night tour seeing loris, scorpions, deer and snakes etc. (be silent while he’s spotting) as well as day tour with a.o. endangered monkeys and a beautiful waterfall. Also, from the terraces you can spot a lot of peacocks and other birds in the front of the stay. He also helped me arrange a taxi a good price back. 200% worth the visit!
