Lovely place, 200% recommended. Philip and Dafne are so kind and make you feel like at home. Peaceful and really cosy place to stay. The breakfast is the best I have had in NZ! In addition, I had a problem with the booking and they had the consideration to help me.

This was one of the best surprises in a long time. It is actually a backpacking place, but more like a guest house. The owners are friendly, the Wi-Fi is super and there is great facilities with kitchen and living room. Free breakfast and tea/coffee in the kitchen. Nice little restaurant where they serve the best food. What’s not to like.

The location is beautiful with many paths to the river for swimming. We liked the facilities (kitchen, showers, laundry). We were able to buy free-range eggs from the reception. The place was very clean during the two nights we spent. The cabin had a mosquito screen on all windows and doors.

We booked this very last minute, to break up our journey from Kaiteri down to Christchurch as we were also spending the next day in Hanmer. We were welcomed and greeted very warmly and directed to our really clean comfortable and spacious family suite. The whole site is very well kept, quiet and set in a beautiful location with animals and birds all around. Playground for the children. Takeaways down the road for dinner. A great spot for a stopover or if you have time, to spend a couple of nights to add in spending a day in Murchison to add in some of the touristy things to do in the area. :)

Located just 350-metres from the Owen River, guests enjoy an onsite bar and restaurant at Owen River Tavern & Motels. All studios boast mountain views and a flat-screen TV.

love the cosy place with nature around it. there is food and drinks right at the motel, no need to travel. Read review that food is expensive but I think it is reasonable given the convenience! Kim and John are so nice and chatty. The only regret I have is I only stayed one night! should have been a couple of days!

An absolutely stunning location. The wool shed was clean, comfortable & had everything we needed. So much character. A wonderful experience.
