At the beginning the location may seem a lil bit off the beaten path and difficult to move around for the backpackers, but give it a try and you will be rewarded with amazing and relaxing time. The lake view cottage was clean and very comfortable. The owner Mr Bang is great - he borrowed us his fishing rod, checked the bus timing, brought some fruits etc. Soak up into this tiny village as the community there is lovely and they are the nicest and most genuine people we met in Thailand. They will share with you the 1000 smiles, make sure you go right direction or just give you the ride, give some shrimps for your fishing bait, proudly show their daily crab catch if they spot you in the kayak. Do not miss the neighbor pancakes restaurant (ca 1km walking), fisherman village and kayaking in mangrove forest. There were not so many mosquitos as people say. Just keep your door closed when the light is on and you will be really fine ;)

The stuff we're amazing. The room was clean, air conditioned. The community surrounding this hostile, were wonderful. catering. a real-thi village. They offered me a bicycle, To get around. For the price you get what you pay for. If you just need a room and you're out most of the day this is a perfect spot. Only four Bunks. In a small space. I enjoyed it. And have booked more days.

A good location for a stress-free getaway in Phangnga, The Sleep Phang-nga is a guest house surrounded by views of the city.

Really nice location within striking distance of Phang Nga Bay, and closer to it than Phuket so you can avoid the tourist rush. The West coast is also accessible by scooter which I strongly recommend for some beautiful and quiet beaches. The property was comfortable and well-priced with friendly staff.

Home from home. Peaceful beautiful nature. Close to many day trips. Owners Gerard and Nui took great care of us 5, my dutch husband and I (british belgian) and our three rugby boys! They chatted with us, told us what it’s like to live in Thailand while they cooked up a feast for us with meat, fish and vegetarian dishes and home-made ice cream. It was also Christmas day! We took their advice and had a wonderful day out with another family with their baby visiting the mangroves, James Bond island, the floating village, the monkey park (funny) and buddha caves. They arranged a driver for us who also took us to our next hotel destination. It worked out cheaper than renting a car. Please don’t bother renting a car! The bungalow fitted us 5 and is basic, but very comfortable.

Very special place to stay in a truly authentic setting - a friendly Thai Muslim riverside village on Phang-nga Bay. Khanittha & Mogens are superb hosts, organising a bay cruise, land tours & transfers for us, even taking us to Wat Ban Tong themselves and waiting for us there. They have a folder full of interesting tours in the area. We just loved Khanittha’s home cooking (13 choices for breakfast! Plus optional dinners) which was much tastier than meals we had at a resort. Also loved the well-equipped, well-lit, clean & comfy room (Ban Plateen) with kitchenette, patio and netting over the mangrove. Particularly enjoyed the veranda-on-stilts overlooking the river, from where we saw the sunset and heard all sorts of bird calls, spotted crabs & mudskippers at low tide, waved at passing longtail boats at high tide. Guests in the other room went kayaking around the mangroves and saw macaques. There’s also Khanittha’s pet parrots and cute squirrel! Aircon & 3 fans worked well, water pressure was good, tv has many channels, even CNN, BBC. A genuine family-run homestay with Khanittha’s relatives pitching in to help. If one of the 2 rooms is available, don’t hesitate!
