As many others have commented what really makes this place so special is the incredible kindness and generosity of Randi and his family. His pride in his home area is evident in all that he shares, and we loved that he showed us around his village and surrounding area. When we first arrived he asked what we were interested in and then suggested a program that met those interests. The room was spotlessly clean, the meals were delicious and plentiful, and the location by the lake is lovely - you can take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the many beautiful birds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Incredibly loving and accommodating hostess who fulfills all wishes. The accommodation is in a quiet location in the middle of the countryside with a wonderful view of the rice fields (about 1km from the city center). The rooms on the first floor are very clean and spacious; the bed is comfortable! There is also a refrigerator as well as tea, coffee and a kettle. The shared balcony invites you to relax. If you need it, you can get a really delicious Sri Lankan curry (lunch and dinner) as well as a large, fresh breakfast. The hostess Milshani organizes taxis, tuk tuks and safaris for a fair price (the same as in the city). She prepared a breakfast to go in the morning and an additional breakfast during the safari in Yala National Park. I really enjoyed my stay in this wonderful accommodation with the great hostess and would recommend it to everyone!

Very beautiful recently build luxury establishment and super staff. The room was amazing and the pool was clean with warm water. They also offer tasteful dinner a la carte which is convenient after a safari. Highly recommended!

The staff, owner and son were fantastic and very accommodating. Booked a safari for us and we were lucky to see elephants, other wildlife and a leopard strolling by us for about 15 minutes. The accommodation and swimming pool were also marvellous. The pool is large, clean and warm. Dined in on both evenings and thoroughly enjoying our food. Wished we had booked to stay longer. Thank you team

Love it, love it, love it! Our hosts were a lovely family, very kind and helpful - they were very flexible with our check in and check out, organised a safari trip for us and helped us in getting dinner. The experience is totally recommended, however beware that it’s out in the nature, so you get really immersed in it, there might be some bugs in your room when you wake up ;) no worries though, each bed is equipped with a mosquito net, so you can sleep peacefully with sounds of nature.

We had an amazing time at tissamaharama. The room was super clean and comfortable. We got to participate at cooking and learned so many new things about sri lankan food! The whole family was so nice to us, it was truly a highlight of our sri lankan roadtrip! We also booked safari and transportation from here.
