Beautiful location and lovely people. Brilliantly positioned for a safari and right on a gorgeous lake where you can swim. The food cooked by Sapun’s (sorry about the spelling)mother were some of the best Sri Lankan dishes we had over the entire holiday and sitting by the fire pit watching the fireflies after dinner as our two boys caught frogs in the garden was really special. Would highly recommend a stay here - you won’t be disappointed!

The house was spacious and set in a beautiful garden not far from the lake and within easy cycling distance of the museum and old town. The room was very clean, comfortable and well appointed with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. The breakfasts are evening meals were generous and delicious. Binara and his family were friendly and welcoming . He speaks very good English and communicated clearly and promptly throughout. He went out of his way to ensure that I got the most out of my stay and was so kind and helpful in helping me with travel arrangements. He recommended a wonderful elephant safari with a very knowledgeable and experienced guide which I really enjoyed. This was a great base for exploring Polonaruwa and I would highly recommend Binara Homestay.

Our stay at Windy Villa was great! The host was more than welcoming and friendly! He told us all about the places we can visit and activities we can do while in Polonaruva. One of the best things about this place is that it has a washing machine, and that was more than needed on this trip! Oh, yes, the host also welcomed us with some cold beer in the fridge :)

We were initially a bit sceptical when we saw some negative reviews posted under the property, but we decided to give it a shot. And guys, that was the best thing we did in Sri Lanka! The place was the BEST! We had the most amazing time with our friends! The rooms were super comfy, nice and clean, and the pool was really clean and had the best view. The place felt so homely, and the staff was really helpful! We even went on an "oru safari", which was a safari in the lake, and it was one of the best experiences we had in Sri Lanka. The food was great as well. Some of the best food we had in Sri Lanka. Thank you so much guys, for the amazing experiences, and keep up the good work! This is a good place for a family. Meals were amazing. Shan who is the owner treated us very well. 100% recommended.
