A young man at the front desk was very helpful in directing us toward art in the city. Hotel Spalentor is located opposite the Botanic Gardens, a 5-minute walk from the Old Town of Basel and the University, and offers free bicycles, free WiFi, a fitness area and a quiet garden with a chestnut tree. The hotel is located very close to the old city center (10min walk). I am very happy with its value for money. The standard double-room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was comfortable and clean. The personnel was very kind and was flexible to serve our needs during our stay.

The breakfast buffet was amazing! There is a quiet cozy garden in the back where we had our free welcome drink and the stress of the traveling dissipated right away! The staff is super helpful and friendly!
