It's very cozy, you'll feel like you're home. The location is nice as well, you can go up to the castle or down to the center from there. They also drove us to Saranadë after checking out. They charged us almost as much as a taxi would with the added bonus of them taking us from the costal line road. The castle walls on top of the hill are excellent to visit, but the experience is let down slightly by all the cars entering the castle grounds. The old town area is nice for a short visit, but not as extensive and "used" as other similar towns. Berat is know as village/ town of 1000 windows. There are 2 area of the old town which are on both sides of the river. It worth just wandering the streets of both old towns. The view from the castle also gives a different perspective. A beautiful old town with so much character.
