In the middle of the breathtaking mountains and after driving the Grossglockner High Alpine Road this is the perfect spot for us. Our room was wonderful (Nature Plus Room with balcony and mountain view) and the bed was very comfy - sometimes I have problems with sleeping in a hotel - not here. The Spa is great, many different pools and spots, breakfast and dinner was spectacular with an extra themed buffet in addition to the served dinner. They have a great ground floor garage where we could park our low Corvettes without any problems and the bus stop in front of the hotel is very convenient if you plan to go to Zell am See or to the Kitzsteinhorn and don't want to drive with your car. Even though we discovered it on our own, since no one actually told us about it. Even if I did not use the service, I think it's cool they provide bikes for rental. I loved Salzburg.
I loved Salzburg. Had planned a full-day round trip from Vienna and the OBB train station agent asked me if I want my return open.I said ok. So thankful for that suggestion/question. I got there around 4pm and right away started searching for a hotel. The city centre across the river is where I spent my 1.5 days (except for the apartment hotel in Anif at night) I didn’t book a guide and only followed the tourist crowd. Loved the hill-top view, Mozart museum, street cafe and the view everywhere. Great little village with no cars, only small electric vehicles. Great food, good shopping and stunning views of then Matterhorn. Nice to walk the streets with no worry of traffic. There was a small group of older local musicians dressed in traditional clothing who played at a location and then moved on to another location to play. We stayed for 3-1/2 days mostly hiking in the area in mid-August. Many tourists but manageable. Strongly, strongly suggest buying the Jungfrau Pass so you can access any trains, buses, and cable cars in the entire area. It makes it so easy to get around Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Wengen, First, and the Eiger. We should have booked a 5 day stay as there were some other hikes and attractions we wanted to take and see. Definitely go to Glacier Canyon and walk it to the end, but take warm clothes as the canyon is quite cool even in August due to the glacial runoff. And for sure visit the base of the Eiger. Suggest you also always get up early and get transport to your destination as late mornings (August) can be very busy and cause long lines.Guest review byParkerUnited States - 8.0
