Very pleasant town, excellent bus and train services. Very novel that one of the train lines actually runs through the town, next to the cars! Has both narrow and standard gauge railways too. Bus services were frequent and reliable. There are some great restaurants, good bakeries and some nice shops. We used it as a base to travel to other places, and the good train links made that very easy. We liked the beauty of Bregenz which is situated alongside Lake Constance. There are nice restaurants & cafes, shops, walks, boats etc and we enjoyed the cable car ride to see the small farm, great for children and the views of the mountains are spectacular. The area is excellent for cyclists & runners, and for people with mobility issues. There are ferries which go to the small German island of Lindau, which is worth a visit and it takes 20-30 minutes. A pleasant town with some very agreeable corners such as Mitteldorf and the Princely Wine Estate. Excellent National Museum although the Art Museum is a disappointment as it contains virtually none of the wonderful paintings owned by the Prince, which surely could be shared between the Liechtenstein Museum in Vienna and the Kunstmuseum in Vaduz. It's easy to get around at the Liechtenstein Card is fantastic value, getting you in free to all sorts of places, including the winery. I only had two short, separate overnighters so tired on arrival. I would have liked more time to explore the old town in daylight and also visit Arosa by train.
