The house is perfectly located fir skiers as it is at the route of G1 skibus so it ics convenient to get to the rwo cable cars: Moslbahn or Horbergbahn. no good restaurants, in the town on the other side of river was outdoor pool, playgrounds for kids and sport center. good staring point if you want to ride bike in alps. good bus and train connection. The perfect Zillertal base — charming, active, and full of alpine character. Mayrhofen is a gem in the heart of the Zillertal Alps — both lively and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. My favorite spot in town was the central square with the iconic ibex statue and the beautiful alpine church, perfect for soaking in the mountain vibe. I enjoyed traditional Tyrolean meals at local guesthouses, and the hut-style restaurants in the surrounding mountains are worth the hike. Breakfast at my hotel was exceptional, and the Zillertal beer is a must-try after a long day outdoors. Getting around is easy — everything in town is walkable, and the Zillertalbahn train makes exploring the valley simple. For solo travelers like me, Mayrhofen is ideal: scenic hiking trails start right from town, there’s an excellent pool & spa complex (Erlebnisbad), and plenty of cafés and beer gardens to meet people or just relax. I've been to Mayrhofen many times over the years.
I've been to Mayrhofen many times over the years. On top of the magnificent views and mountains, I always recommend it particularly on the size of the town. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and hotels in the centre, which give plenty of options if you ever should get a bad weather day. If you are there for a few days, the Active Card is well worth getting. It includes all lifts, train and buses in the valley, so you can get about easily, trying other towns in the valley, without thinking of additional cost.Guest review byDarrenUnited Kingdom
