Being an artist and writer-I enjoyed taking pictures to sketch when I get home. I love the old Bookshop / Opp Shop in downtown Katoomba! The library to check a few information for my writing. I stopped at the Cultural Centre to see an exhibition. Took pictures of Street Art! Hopped on the local bus-great service. I told them so. Did a short bush walk as well. Leura is very beautiful...the whole area of the Blue Mountains is just lovely. We loved popping into the retail stores and checking out and purchasing what I don't have in the area in which I call home. I recommend for a hearty meal the Cafe & Deli in Leura was delicious. For a special treat the Hotel Majestic in Meadlow Bath for high tea. And a visit to the Mountains isn't complete without a trip to Scenic World.Guest review byKym DowAustralia - 8.0

The property is modern on the inside, with well-appointed bathroom, comfortable bed and cosy shared sitting room. The breakfast was perfect and set us up for the day, with home-made yoghurt and muesli, warm croissants and muffins that arrive at your table in the comfortable lounge room. Views of the mountains make this a beautiful setting to enjoy a few days. We felt at peace from the inside out. Easy to find, well-lit even at night time. Added bonus: free wifi worked perfectly. Mount Victoria is a great place to stay. Away from the crowds of Leura and Katoomba with lots of lovely walks nearby. Thoroughly recommend the Hydro Majestic Wintergarden for High Tea on a Sunday. The Grand Canyon walk near Blackheath is so pretty. Very busy walk (ie lots of other bushwalkers) but worth it for the prettiness of the walk. This is a nice area down the road from busy Penrith. It is fairly quiet and generally a safe area with nice parks and walking trails. Plenty of good cafes for your morning quality coffee.
