Country location with a city feel. Great cafes and restaurants in both Albury and Wodonga. High end shopping centre. Short drive to wineries and and tourist towns like Beechworth, Bright and Yarrawonga. When ever I am in Albury I always stock up on great produce at Harris’s Farm Markets. Really enjoyed the Paddle Steamer excursion and gaining an understanding of the 'lock system' along the river. People were friendly and helpful. Best dining experience was 'Enjoywine Char Grill & Bar'. Amazing food and great service. Also, really enjoyed the visit to Wentworth Gaol and the Wentworth Pioneer Museum - really interesting! I come up for the Echuca blues Festival but prefer to stay in Moama its a nice quiet Town and only a few Klm to Echuca, has changed a lot since the 70s. About $20.00 for a cab into Echuca. Should have a bus running constant for the Blues fes as parking can be a nightmare. The Blues bus runs on the Saturday only which I think is free. Wodonga is the more upmarket side of the NSW/Victoria border. It lacks much in the way of heritage, with only the old railway station (now a trendy cafe area) as any real form of architecture. Actually, there is not much in Mulwalla except a lot of accommodation, mainly around the Lake. The main town, Yarrawonga, is on the Victorian side of the bridge connecting the two. The main activities in the area centre around the fresh water lake: fishing, swimming, canoeing, water skiing. Rutherglen is an interesting small town in the north east of Victoria and vineyard country. Many old and well maintained houses and commercial buildings. A pleasant main street with interesting shops and good coffee. Further to my previous review and reading others reminded me about a few things. On arrival there was a terrible smell in the bathroom that came and went during our stay. Apparently caused by the drains. I requested that some drain cleaner be used. The carpet might not have been dirty but certainly very stained. There was a broken leg on one of the beds and the freezer needed defrosting. However we would still recommend this Motel to others as overall it was pretty good and the location good.Guest review byJAustralia
